Artworks Gallery of Milestone project. The gallery of our schools winning entry in the Artworks 2002 competition contains illustrated descriptions of the inspirational visual arts project. The school recieved the Artworks award at a special presentation at Tate Modern in London!

Association of National Specialist Colleges Members of NATSPEC work in partnership with others to offer the widest choice of innovative, high quality, cost-effective education, training and support to match the inclusive learning needs of young people with learning difficulties and disabilities as they prepare for the next stage of their lives.

Autism UK
The Society exists to increase awareness of autism, together with well established and newly developed approaches in the diagnosis, assessment, education and treatment. The main goal is to improve the quality of life for persons with Autism.

BILD
British Institute of Learning Disabilities:
'committed to improving the quality of life of all people with a learning disability'.
BILD carries out applied research in the field of learning disabilities, and is committed to actively disseminating research findings to ensure the adoption of best practice.

British Council International School Award
The British Council International School Award recognises international work in schools. The scheme is open to all schools in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

British Dyslexia Association
The BDA is the voice of dyslexic people.
They offer advice, information and help to families, professionals and dyslexic individuals.
They are working to raise awareness and understanding of dyslexia, and to effect change.

Conductive Education
Conductive Education is a major breakthrough in the well-being of children and adults with motor disorders and their families. Conductive Education offers immediate and long-term advantages for those who can access it directly and strongly challenges present ways of understanding and providing for disabilities.

Connexions offers a range of guidance and support for 13 to 19 year olds to help make the transition to adult life a smooth one.

The Down's Syndrome Association exists to support people with Down's syndrome, their family and carers as well as providing information for those with a professional interest.

kids 101-art
kids101-art is a Virtual Gallery designed to celebrate the creativity of our children. It has been conceived by art teachers and children in order to bring the world into their classroom.

Liberator markets hardware and software items for people with special needs. Their core business is augmentative communication systems but they also market access technology: everything from switches through to head pointing mouse alternatives.

Mencap works with children and adults with a learning disability and their families and carers to improve their lives and opportunities.

Milestone Leading Edge Partnership
The Milestone is a Leading Edge school.This involves us working in partnership with several other local schools at secondary level. Our role is to lead and co-ordinate projects which will be of direct benefit to the young people in all our schools, sharing our expertise in Special Education.

Portage is a home visiting educational service for pre-school children with additional support needs and their families.

School Sports Coordinator Site for the School Sport's Co-ordinator - Hannah Wilson (SSCo). This site will provide information on events, festivals and new opportunities that are available to pupils at The Milestone School. The SSCo has been based at the School for 3 years and has assisted in the development and progression of physical activity within school which has recently led to the School achieving the Sports Mark Award.

SCOPE
Scope is a disability organisation in England and Wales whose focus is people with cerebral palsy. Scope's aim is that disabled people achieve equality: a society in which they are as valued, and have the same human and civil rights, as everyone else.

TEACCH: Division TEACCH homepage

Total Communications
The aim of Gloucestershire Total Communication (gtc) is to ensure that all people with total communication needs in Gloucestershire have a consistent and coherent approach to meeting their needs throughout their lives and in all environments.
