Treasurer's report

Mike read through the Treasurer's report as emailed by Ian Dance.

 

School Requests

Request for £300 towards Heuristic Play equipment. Agreed

Request for £500 towards cost of mini bus hire and Canoeing activity for KS 3&4 pupils. Agreed.

 

Easter Raffle.

17 prizes so far in addition to the £50 main prize.

Tickets have been issued to all parents.

Maria has got about 20 different types of prizes following her appeal. Some of these will be used for other raffles or fund raising activities. She is awaiting feed back/responses from visitors who came to school yesterday.

 

Summer Fayre

2nd July

Gravity Outlaws booking in hand. Phil will do the Bottle trolley and PA system.

Check if Lyn booked Bouncy Castle booked.

Angela sorting out Ice cream from Walls. 

Jive dancers - Angela sorting. 

Puppet show - Dave to be asked if he will do again.

BBQ. Discussion about buying a gas BBQ to be used by Friends and school. Scott suggested Summer Play scheme could contribute to the cost and share resource. Maria offered to investigate the loan of an industrial BBQ.

 

Golf Day   (Dave Taylor)

30th April at Rodway Golf Club. Sponsor to provide money for trophies. Have 15 raffle prizes. Flyers have gone out to different clubs - awaiting responses. Hope to raise about £400

 

 

Marathon Fundraising (Ian ) 

Friends wish to thank Ian for the efforts he is putting in to raising towards raising money for Mencap and the school.

 

Ball at Hatherly Manor on 31st March. Tickets cost £25 (includes 3 course meal)

Pub quiz at Glevum on evening of 11th March

 

Fundraising Ideas (Stephen Dinning)

Corporate Donations; Stephen has been in contact with several local companies to fid out about their donations to local schools. He will contact/liase with Ali Collier about who and where to apply for.

 

Internet Auction; Stephen offered to find out about running an internet auction over ebay.                

 

School Report on Digital Camera needs / printing.

 

Direct Appeal for Cameras  (Stephen Dinning) . Wondered about the effectiveness of writing to Electrical stores to see if they would donate cameras.             

 

200 Club (Phil) Phil spoke about running a 200 club - people pay £1 per month - half the money collected in would go towards 'prize' money. Agreed that Phil would follow up/organise.

Sara's husband has a friend who can organise a quiz night ? possible hosted at the school.

 

Citizen newspaper competition. Maria registered the school. Certificates are being collected in a box in the entrance lobby. Vouchers need to be in by 10th. Maria passed a reminder letter to be sent out to parents asap.
